A Mediating Effect of Self-Reflection and a Moderating Effect of Marital Emotional Interaction in the Influence of Psychological Crisis in Married Middle-Aged Men Upon Psychological Well-Being

|
Objectives: This study was conducted in order to explore the influence of psychological crisis upon psychological well-being targeting married middle-aged men, and a mediating effect of self-reflection and a moderating effect of marital emotional interaction in a relationship between two variables.
Methods: The research was carried out in Seoul, Gyeonggi Province, Chungcheong Province, and Gangwon Province, and 332 copies of the questionnaire were finally used in the analysis.
Results: First, in the influence of psychological crisis in married middle-aged men upon psychological well-being, it was confirmed that there existed a partial mediating effect of self-reflection. Second, a negative (-) impact that the psychological crisis has on the psychological well-being can be considered to be increased more by negative interaction of marital emotional interactions, but the positive interaction of marital emotional interactions did not yield a statistically significant moderating effect.
Conclusions: Implications of this study¡¯s results stem from the mediating effect of self-reflection and the moderating effect of marital emotional negative interaction found in the influence of psychological crisis upon the psychological well-being of married middle-aged men.
